Promax Extreme - When and how to use it?
I have been training for a while using protein supplements and i overheard some guys talking about using them for a bit then going off them for a while. I use Promax Extreme pretty much constantly 3 times a day, is there a time period that you should come off these sort of things then go back on? like 6 months on, one month off kind of thing?
Also does using milk to mix it with make any difference?

Just to be clear a suppliment is what a suppliment says……….A suppliment. There is no substitute for good old fashioned FOOD. Proteins with high BV value and good quality low gi carbs. However, suppliments play an important role in training and repair. Post workout we all know we need a quick up take of amino acids and a replacement of lost glycogen in the liver and the muscles. Taking fast digesting protein (whey mixed with water)as well as fast digesting carbs is the best way and has the highest BV value. While mixing protein with milk, making it casein based will cause the protein up take to be slower, most usefull at bed time, to stop midnight hunger and muscle breakdown / repair. Personally, I favour a protein with both whey and casein as research shows they are both important.
In terms of cycling protein, from a personal point of view I dont see why you should, if you are training hard you need the right types of protein at the right time………
On a final note, i guess it does not hurt you to have some time off, now and again. Thats time of supplimenting, training and eating. Giving your body , organs and digestion a well desreved rest.
Best of luck

Promax extreme contains Creatine which should be cycled so your body dosent get used to the effects and to ease water retention that Creatine does as it helps send water in to your muscles.
